Rescue can’t be a plan for anyone’s life...That’s not a long term plan. It has to be about empowerment, about opportunity, about building on the inherent strengths that someone has.
Girls as young as 11 are being sexualized by big name brands like American Apparel. And when you sexualize young girls in the media, you normalize the market for them in the streets. Disturbingly, over 15% of sex workers are forced into the industry before the age of 12, a fact often hidden under layers of makeup.

Neutrogena, the #1 retailer of makeup removers, created Àvendre, a fake beauty brand that highlights the media’s influence on sexually exploited minors. Àvendre is putting these young women up for sale, much like their traffickers on the dark web. But when you “purchase” an Àvendre girl, the proceeds go directly to Girls Educational and Mentoring Services (GEMS), a nonprofit striving to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children and young women.
